Frequently asked questions
Can we live at home during a renovation?
For many room renovations, yes, with some planning around kitchens and bathrooms. For whole-home work, moving out for part of the build is often quicker and less stressful. We'll talk you through the options.
What if you find problems once the walls are open?
Older homes can hide surprises such as rot, termite damage or outdated wiring. We inspect early to reduce the risk, and if something comes up we explain it, price it and agree the fix with you before going ahead.
Do renovations need a permit?
It depends on the work. Structural changes usually need a building permit, while like-for-like updates often don't. We'll tell you what applies to your project.
How much will my renovation cost?
Cost depends on scope, the age and condition of the home and your choice of finishes. We give cost guidance early so you can make decisions with real numbers.
